CLP 220 industrial gear oil for heavily loaded spur, helical, bevel and worm gears with a higher viscosity grade.
CLP 220 is an industrial gear oil for heavily loaded gearbox applications where a higher viscosity than ISO VG 150 is required. The product is designed for spur, bevel and worm gears as well as other industrial lubrication points with splash or circulation lubrication.
The EP formulation, good oxidation stability and reliable lubrication performance make it a robust choice for continuous industrial operation. Especially under heavier loads or in slower gear units, ISO VG 220 is often the more suitable grade.
For suitable systems, CLP 220 remains a classic heavy-duty industrial gear oil with high operational reliability.
Suitable for industrial gearboxes and bearings where DIN 51517 Part 3, AGMA 9005 E02 (EP), AIST 224 or an ISO VG 220 viscosity grade is required.
When is CLP 220 preferable to CLP 150?
When the system requires higher viscosity due to load, temperature or speed range.
Is CLP 220 a general-purpose hydraulic oil?
No, it is an industrial gear oil with a clear EP focus.
Why is the correct ISO VG grade important?
Because it largely determines whether a sufficiently load-bearing lubricating film is formed during operation.

All types of containers should preferably be stored under cover. If stored outdoors without roofing, the containers should be kept lying down to prevent water ingress and preserve label readability. Products should not be stored at temperatures above 60 °C and must be protected from direct sunlight and frost.
